IDF generals Yair Naveh and Giora Eiland have joined other top retired IDF brass in expressing opposition to the idea of Israelis living in foreign countries voting in national elections. A petition opposing the proposal was circulated among IDF officials earlier this week, with the effort headed by former IDF Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shachak and former Police Commissioner Shlomo Aharonishki.
Others who have signed the petition include Amos Yaron, Ami Ayalon, Amram Levin, Yitchak ben-Yisrael, Danny Rothschild, Amos Lapidot, and Eyal Ben-Reuven.
