The Arkia Airlines Workers' Committee has asked the Movement for Quality Government organization to investigate the process whereby Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz authorized El Al to fly regularly scheduled flights to and from Eilat. A report in business newspaper The Marker quoted committee head Yigal Cohen as saying that officials in the Ministry had acted improperly, giving the impression that they would not make the decision they did, "apparently because of pressures" by El Al on the officials, Cohen said.
