(IsraelNN.com) Many worshippers came to the Heichal Ya'akov synagogue in Jerusalem's Kiryat Moshe neighborhood on Monday to continue to pray for the recovery of former chief Sephardic rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu, who is being treated at Shaarai Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem.

Among those in attendance were the rabbi's sons, Rabbis Yosef and Shmuel Eliyahu. Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu cut short a trip to the United States, which would have included a visit with imprisoned spy for Israel Jonathan Pollard.
