Egypt's security forces arrested Monday a number of senior members of the Muslim Brotherhood – including the organization's number two.

Although the Muslim Brotherhood is not allowed to compete in the national elections, the movement gained a fifth of the seats in parliamentary elections in 2005, when independent candidates who support the brotherhood won seats.
