Professor Yitzhak Ben Yisrael said Thursday that Iran's announcement this week that it would agree to export some of its uranium for enrichment was a sign that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is beginning to understand that he does not have too much time to play around regarding his country's nuclear development program. Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, the former head of the Refael weapons-development authority said, "while the pressure grows and the United States closes all the corners, Iran understands that it must compromise. The United States succeeded in recruiting Russia and India to support toughening sanctions. That leaves the Chinese and the Americans are applying pressure to make that happen." The chairman of the Israel Space Agency added that the West has to take the announcement with a grain of salt and that actions speak louder than words.
The former Kadima Knesset member said he hoped Israel would not become complacent in the wake of the announcement and that "it will be business as usual and that we continue to prepare for a real face-off with the Iranian nuclear entity."
