Responding to statement by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman that Israel faced not a territorial dispute but a 'clash of civilizations,' Kadima said that the government of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was "playing with fire." The fact that Lieberman was able to make such a statement, a Kadima spokesperson said, means that the government has no clear policy, and "any irresponsible minister can threaten the nation with a large-scale war.

"Instead of calming the situation, Israel's official representative destabilizes it. Israel is stronger than the wild statements made by its irresponsible leader," Kadima said.
