A crowd estimated at roughly 10,000 people rallied in the Russian Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad on Saturday demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin over the recent rise in living costs and unemployment. Boris Nemtsov, a leader of opposition movement Solidarity, told Echo Moskvy radio that people were protesting against a 25-30% rise in utility bills and against the recent surge in unemployment. He said the rally was organized by numerous political parties.
