Peres Calls on West to Shun Iran

President Shimon Peres called on the world Tuesday to actively oppose the dictatorship in Iran in the moral sphere. He said that moral opposition to Iran was no less important than imposing sanctions. He added that many Iranians were trying to free their country from the shackles of tyranny that have been imposed on them, and it is the free world's obligation to stand besides them.

Peres spoke at a state dinner in Berlin, where is to speak to the German parliament Wednesday in honor of International Holocaust Memorial Day.
