One of the websites associated with Hamas reports that two British youths are guesting these days in Gaza. One of them is said to have left his home to join jihad in the Hamas-controlled area. He was supposed to deliver a lecture at Gaza's biggest mosque. The other is only described as a veteran of the British army in Iraq.
Britain has been a breeding ground for terrorists in recent years. The Nigerian who was thwarted in his bid to blow up an American airliner on December 25th was a student of mechanical engineering at the London University College. Additional would-be airline bombers from Britain were convicted a month ago in connection with 2006 activity. Those involved in the fatal bombing at the Mike's Place night club in Tel Aviv were also British citizens.
Recently the student governments at the London School of Economics and Queen Mary College at the University of London announced twinning alliances with the Islamic University of Gaza, a Hamas-allied institution.
