Member of Knesset Yochanan Plesner is advancing an international effort to bring Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to trial at the International Court of Justice in the Hague on a charge of incitment to genocide. Interviewed on Arutz Sheva's Hebrew journal, the Kadima lawmaker said that countries which have signed a convention against genocide cannot be silent and are obligated to act against the Iranian president.
Plesner has sent his proposal, which is backed by citations of Ahmadinejad against the Jewish people and the state of Irael. It does not mention human rights in Iran, nuclear weapons or the Iranian president's support of terror. Only his citations of incitement are used, given the fact that Iran is a signatory to the convention against genocide.
