Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called on Israelis Sunday to plant trees in the settlement blocs, in honor of the upcoming holiday of Tu B'shvat. Netanyahu said that "these places will remain under Israeli sovereignty forever. I called on everyone to plant trees in these areas, as we planted a university in Ariel," Netanyahu said at Sunday's cabinet meeting.
In a letter to Netanyahu, MK Danny Danon (Likud) said that while the Prime Minister's idea was a good one, "we hope to hear news about building homes, not just planting trees. Remember that you have committed to restart building in Judea and Samaria within nine months," Danon wrote in a letter to Netanyahu.
