Hundreds of leftists are expected to demonstrate Friday in the Sheikh Jarrach neighborhood of Jerusalem against what they call "Jews gaining control of the place".

Army Radio reports that Director-General Hagai Elad of the Organization for Citizen's Rights asked Attorney General Menachem Mazuz to instruct law-enforcement officials to allow freedom of expression at the site and rein in violence against demonstrators on the part of the police.
