    Broadcast Authority Faces Reform

The Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) decided Thursday evening to schedule a marathon of meetings in the next ten days to bridge the gaps between the various parties in order to put authority reforms into effect. The small team holding the meetings will present more senior leaders with areas still in dispute. If they cannot iron things out, reform attempts will be suspended

Histadrut Labor Federation chief Ofer Eini and Minister Yuli Edelstein who is overseeing the reform stressed on Thursday evening that the IBA's condition was serious and that it had reached a decisive point. They also stressed the importance of public broadcasting to the state and society. IBA Director-General Motti Shklar expressed hope that the authority could be saved.
