While Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu declared that the building freeze in Judea and Samaria would last only ten months, and just last week the government announced that permits would be granted for construction to begin immediately after the freeze ends, the Defense Ministry has been advertising jobs for building freeze inspectors and supervisors – with terms of employment of at least two years.

Upon learning of the ads, MK Uri Ariel (National Union) presented Defense Minister Ehud Barak with an urgent query on why he needs to hire inspectors for two years to do a job that will end in ten months. Samaria Council head Gershon Mesika reacted sharply, saying that the ads display "a lack of respect by Defense Minister Ehud Barak for the cabinet's decision that he himself took part in. He is spending a great deal of money without authorization, but apparently when it comes to civil war against residents of Judea and Samaria, Barak has no budgetary problems."
