Speculation rose Thursday that Labor MK Ofer Pines-Paz was planning to resign from the Knesset, after he called a press conference for later in the day. Mks said that while there were several possibile reasons for the press conference - including the possibility that he may quit Labor and establish a "party of one" -  an announcement of Pines-Paz's resignation "would not surprise anyone," a Knesset sourc said.

Pines-Paz met with Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin in a closed session, and several Mks are convinced that he will hand in his resignation, over differences between him and Labor head Ehud Barak. The MK ignored reporters' questions about the content of his meeting with Rivlin.
