In an interview, Rabbi David Dudkevich, chief rabbi of Yitzhar, said that the Israeli nation cannot sit by and allow Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's building freeze in Judea and Samaria to go unanswered. "It's difficult to understand how a government chosen with the votes of the right, which went to the building of the land of Israel, can use those votes to act in the exact opposite manner. The government imposes difficult rules on the Hesder yeshivot, and the Defense Minister defames the national religious community constantly."
Rabbi Dudkevich said that the government's freeze must be fought – with a "holy bravery and resistance. We must fight the edicts written by Jews who act like our enemies, throwing families out of their homes in the middle of the night. We got used to this after the disengagement in Gush Katif, but we do not have to turn the other cheek to our torturers," he said.
