The Knesset Committee for the Rights of Children, headed by MK Danny Danon (Likud), will conduct an emergency session Wednesday in the wake of the murder of seven-year-old Leon Kalantarov over the weekend. Two 24-year-old neighbors, who are twins, have been charged withthe murder in the town of Bnai Ayish.
Wednesday's session will discuss "the failure of the authorities to prevent the murder, despite all the warning signals that police and welfare officials observed," a spokesperson for Danon's office said. The Committee will also discuss possible legislative changes to prevent such events in the future.
