Mordechai Vanunu has been detained by Israel Police for contact with foreign citizens in violation of a legal order. A hearing on extending Vanunu's detention was scheduled for Tuesday in the Jerusalem Magistrates Court.

Such contact is prohibited under terms of Vanunu's release from prison after he served an 18-year sentence for disclosing secrets from Israel's nuclear reactor in Dimona.
