Thanks to the intervention of Jerusalem Deputy Mayor David Hadari (Mafdal-National Union), residents of southern Jerusalem will have their eiruv back, enabling them to carry on the Sabbath. The posts that had been set up for the eiruv were taken down earlier this week, in order to carry out infrastructure work. The removal of the poles affected the eiruv in all of the southern neighborhoods of Jerusalem, including Malha, Pat, Gilo, and parts of Kiryat Hayovel.

When informed of the problem, Hadari worked with the relevant city officials to ensure that the eiruv would be repaired before Shabbat. Hadari expressed satisfaction with the solution, saying that "the Jerusalem eiruv is not a luxury but a basic need for residents, and we are grateful to the city the religious council for their assistance in the matter.
