Document Portrays Major IDF 'Battle' Against Yesha Jews

An internal IDF document reported in the media Sunday morning outlines a major IDF operation to prevent Jewish building in Judea and Samaria. The document describes a major IDF "offensive" to prevent protesters from interfering with demolition work against Jewish homes in the affected areas that violate building freeze orders. Large battalions of soldiers, police and other security forces will be sent to the "area of operations," as the document describes Judea and Samaria, in an effort to "shock" residents into compliance. Roads will be closed in order to prevent protesters from moving between sites, residents will be forced to remain in their homes "except under special circumstances," and cellphone communications will be dampened so activists will not be to communicate with each other.

The Yesha Human Rights Council condemned the document, saying that "it outlines a military operation against a civilian population. We call on the government to rethink its steps before it loses the rights for Israel to call itself the only democracy in the Middle East."
