Traffic was stopped in both directions Friday morning after land mines were discovered on the road between Kibbutz Ein Gev and the village of Charoub on the east side of Lake Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee). They were among rocks that were swept onto the road because of the stormy weather. Police and military demolitions teams were sent to the scene to deal with the explosives.
The rain also caused flooding in Rechovot.
