Tzviya Sariel, who was arrested early in November, during the uprooting and demolition of the Ramat Migron outpost in Samaria, was released from the Neve Tirtzah prison in Ramle, east of Tel Aviv, Friday morning after a month and a half in custody. Other Land of Israel activists gave her a festive reception next to the prison.
The 20-year-old resident of Elon Moreh remained in custody after the release of others who were arrested because she refused to identify herself, be fingerprinted or recognize the authority of the secular courts. On Wednesday, a Jerusalem District Court judge rejected the state's appeal of a magistrate's court to free Sariel after 45 days in custody, even though she refused to sign the terms of her release.
