The Health Ministry has confirmed rabies in a six-month-old beige Labrador retriever that belonged to a family in the community of Menachamia in the Jordan Valley. The ministry says anyone who may have been in contact with the animal should contact the Kinneret district health office in Tiberias.
The ministry reminds people who have been bitten or scratched by a suspected animal to wash the wound with running water and apply a disinfectant before going to a health office or emergency room to see if rabies treatment is necessary.
