Students at the Ariel University Center, in cooperation with the Student Union will hold prayers Tuesday for the release of abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. The students announced on Thursday that they want to know that behind every soldier who is inducted, whether in regular service or reserves, stand a a whole state, stable government and strong army to bring him safely home.
Among the prayers to be said is Psalm 121, which begins, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills, where my help comes from...." Signs will be placed calling for Gilad's release and blue balloons, symbolising the struggle for his freedom will be released into the air. A special stand will be put up for enlisting students into the Army of the Friends of Gilad Shalit.
