In an interview with Arutz 7, former Justice Minister Moshe Nissim said that he agreed with current Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman that Jewish courts should take more of a role in the Israeli legal system – and specifically that rabbinical courts should be given responsibility for adjudicating monetary matters, in order to releave pressure from the courts.
"The courts are unable to dispense justice properly, with adjudicators waiting long periods of time for decisions," Nissim said. "One way I see to relieve the burden on the courts is to send many of the civilian monetary cases to the rabbinical courts for a decision," he said.
