The "Tsalul" clean water group on Sunday appealed to Environment Minister Gilad Erdan to intercede and demand the halting of the pollution of Israel's waterways by sewage from the Palestinian Authority. The group made the demand in the wake of recent pollution of the Alexander River by sewage from Tul Karem. The sewage caused severe ecological damage in the river, which had recently been cleaned up at a cost of millions of dollars.
According to the group, the government has made absolutely no effort "to prevent the flow of sewage from PA areas to Israeli rivers and the coast."
