Bank-Chair Payout Ruled Not Against Public Interest

The State Comptroller's office announced on Thursday that, so far, it had not found anything against the public interest in the compensation being paid outgoing chairman Shlomo Zohar of the Israel Discount Bank. Criticism of the million-dollar payout prompted the office to investigate because the state holds 25 percent of the bank's shares.

The office will continue to monitor the matter.
