British Foreign Secretary David Milliband said in an interview with a Lebanese newspaper that the UK could consider establishing ties with Hizbullah. "We must carefully consider the possibility of renewing our political ties with the organization, Milliband was quoted by the Daily Telegraph as telling the Lebanese Daily Star.
Milliband said that the move could be appropriate, since Hizbullah was now a part of the Lebanese government. "We could carefully consider the possibility of renew ties with Hizubullah politicians, among them parliament members," he said. Such a move would encourage the group to "renounce violence and fulfill a central role in Lebanese politics," he added.
