A Fatah-associated internet site reported Sunday that there is tension between Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza over a recent launching of a rocket intened to strike an Israeli target, which instead hit a home in the Nusirat neighborhood of Gaza. The two factions blame each other for launching the rocket.
In another incident, Hamas security forces threw the brother of a Jihad activist from the third floor of the police station in Shajiyah over shots fired at a senior member of the Al-Kassam Brigades during a visit to the El-Burej neighborhood.
Meanwhile, Hamas denies that it has reached agreement with the other factions to stop firing rockets at Israel. A message regarding Hamas's commitment to armed struggle against Israel were at the base of an announcement by the Al-Kassam Brigade for last week's Eid Al-Adha holiday.
