Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman is likely to bring to government for its approvals his candidates for several key foreign posts. Lieberman has chosen Alon Pinkas as Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, and Shai Bazak as Israel's chief consul in New York. 

Pinkas will replace Gabriella Shalev if confirmed. Shalev was appointed to the job by then-Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.
