"A Real Likudnik Does Not Fold"

Hundreds of Likud party members and activists attended a conference held in Ra'anana Saturday evening to protest the government’s recent decision to freeze Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria. The conference, titled “A Real Likudnik Does Not Fold,” was organized to strengthen the ruling party against immense pressure from the United States government to restrict all building for ethnic Jews in Israel’s heartland. Many party activists expressed hope that Netanyahu will find the strength to follow the example of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir who heroically stood up to equally daunting pressure from then US President George H.W. Bush. “Its time we start behaving like an independent country again,” said one conference attendant. “Bibi needs to be strong like Shamir and tell the Americans to let us run our own affairs.”
