The Hamas formally announced Wednesday night that negotiations on a Shalit deal were postponed until after the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday on Tuesday of next week, the TV network Al Arabeyeh reported.

Hamas officials accused Israel of responsibility for torpedoing the deal. They said that Israel refuses to release bomb maker Abdullah Barghouti and the former head of the Hamas in Judea and Samaria, Ibrahim Hamed. Both are responsible for the murder of dozens of Israelis.
