Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman is scheduled to meet Tuesday with new German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem. The two also met yesterday with the Arab-Israeli conflict and Iran's nuclear program at the center of attention. Westerwelle will also hold talks with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad in Ramallah.
Upon his arrival in Jerusalem, Westerwelle said Germans had a "special responsibility" towards Israel. He met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who took him to the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial, where he laid a wreath.
