The Knesset voted on Monday to approve the second and third readings of a bill that will allow widows of Israeli troops killed in action to retain their benefits if they remarry. The second reading was approved by a vote of 85-0. The third reading was approved by a vote of 84-0.
Likud Member of Knesset Danny Danon, head of the Knesset lobby for Israel Defense Forces widows and orphans, welcomed the bill's passage as a way of correcting a falsification in addition to the tremendous personal grief of living a personal and societal lie for many years.
