Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu joined the chorus of those opposing conscientious objection to IDF orders in his speech at a memorial service for the first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion, and called to respect the army.
"There are no ideological camps in the army, there is no outer chain of command. There is no place to refuse. We will fight refusal with all the means and power at our disposal. We are capable of this and its implementation is vital," Netanyahu said. "The IDF is one unit with a hierarchy of command. This is what was and will always be," he added.
Representatives of Yesha residents have asked the IDF to stop taking on non-defense related missions.
