(IsraelNN.com) Dr. Leonid Idelman, chairman of the Medical Federation, accused Deputy Health Minister Ya'akov Litzman on Sunday of callous interference for calling on the Schneider Children's Hospital to keep treating a baby girl after doctors there declared her brain dead. In a letter to Litzman, Idelman said the doctors' professional opinion had to be respected.

Litzman send a letter of appreciation to two doctors who rescued a mother and a daughter from a fire in Mishor. In his letter, the deputy minister cited the two doctors for their selflessness and willingness to put their own lives in danger, saying they brought honor to the profession.
