The Kollel Store chain - started by a Chabad adult-study program in the United States in response to the closing of charitable organizations, following the start of the international financial crisis - has opened five stores in Israel and more are expected in the next year. The chain is known for selling basic food items at wholesale prices, saving the customer 30 percent.
The Israeli chain includes branches in Beitar Ilit, Bnei Brak and Tzefat.
