Striking court typists blocked roads and stopped traffic during a noisy demonstration in Jerusalem Sunday, as the Histadrut labor union threatened to undertake far more aggressive actions if the typists were not rewarded with a collective labor agreement. The demonstration targeted Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, whom the typists blame for foot-dragging on signing a new contract.

During the demonstration, strikers spoke of their difficult situations, with a 38 year old demonstrator telling the crowd that she was "a single parent with two children, and I earn NIS 3,000 a month. All I want from you, Mr. Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, is to work in a decent job and get paid minimum wage, and the benefits I am supposed to get."
