IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi said Sunday that “it is not possible to hold together an army of soldiers who do not obey commanders' orders. I propose that the IDF be taken out of the political controversy.”

Ashkenazi was referring to recent protests by combat soldiers against the use of the IDF for razing Jewish outposts.
