Coalition Chairman Ze'ev Elkin and fellow Likud Members of Knesset Ofir Akunis and Tzion Fanian arrived late Friday morning with members of Likud Youth to the Na'alin area between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, in a visit designed to show support for Israeli troops assigned to protect construction of Israel's big barrier in the area. The soldiers and Border Guard officers, along with construction crews, are subjected every Friday to violent demonstrations by residents of the Samarian Palestinian Authority village, accompanied by Israeli and international anarchists.
The Likud representatives brought the soldiers food and drinks. They toured the area and received a security briefing from reserves general Uzi Dayan.
