Member of Knesset Ofir Pines-Paz said Thursday evening that the Supreme Court ruling earlier in the day to invalidate a law putting Israeli prisons under private management was "an historic decision which determines that the Knesset cannot privatize the government's functions."
Pines-Paz - one of the more prominent opponents to the prison privatization in the last Knesset - said, "I hope that the decision will pour cold water on the government's appetite for privatization. I'm sure that the Prisons Service can operate the prison[s] best."
