The Knesset approved the preliminary reading of an amendment that would significantly increase the amount of fines for illegally parking in a spot for disabled people. According to the amendment illegally parking in a disabled spot will now cost violatros NIS 5,000 or almost $1,400.
The amendment was initiated by MK Zevulun Orlev, said that "the law protects the rights of the disabled in light of recent incidents.
