MK Ophir Akunis sharply attacked the conduct of the head of the opposition, MK Tzipi Livni, and Kadima party MKs, on Wednesday, regarding the price of water. "On January 3rd, 2007 Kadima ministers supported an economic arrangements bill, in which one of the clauses specified water law reform. The result of the bill was a sharp increase in water prices," he said.

The Kadima party has been critical of the Likud led government over the handling of the water issue.
