Firefighters delivered an angry letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Tuesday, saying that they would not take responsibility for tragedies that could hit the country, given the lack of resources they are subject to.
According to the letter, "in the rest of the world there is one firefighter per 1,000 residents, but in Israel the ratio is one to 10,000. Based on studies by expert panels, there are 1,200 fewer firefighters in Israel than there should be." According to the firefighters, "under these circumstances we cannot supply the proper protection to residents of Israel, and we hereby deny all responsibility in advance for the dark results that these policies may have."
