      Biometric Votes Delayed

Votes on the second and third readings of a bill to create a biometric data base for identification of Israelis was taken off the agenda of the Knesset Monday evening. Science Committee Chairman Meir Sheetrit requested the removal of the vote from the agenda at the request of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, amid concern that the vote of the Yisrael Beiteinu party would defeat the measure.

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin said that he matter could return to the agenda next Monday.
