Tzvi Bar'el and Yossi Melman of Haaretz were named winners of the Sokolov Prize for Journalism on Thursday. Melman was given the prize for research among members of the print media. Bar'el received a lifetime achievement award.
In the electronic media, David Witztum of Channel One government television was awarded a prize for lifetime achievement, while Omri Asenheim of Channel Two's "Fact" (Uvdah in Hebrew) won for his investigation which exposed anthrax experiments on Israeli soldiers.
