The head of the Turkish parliament, sent Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin a letter thanking him for the congratulations he had sent in the name of the Knesset, on the occasion of the newly installed Turkish parliament speaker's taking office. Only one problem: Mehmet Ali Shaheen did not send the letter to the Knesset in Jerusalem, but addressed it to "the speaker of the Israeli parliament, Tel Aviv."
In his letter, Shaheen said he hoped to keep up the good relations with Israel while he serves in his post. Rivlin said he appreciated the thought, but that "the honor of Jerusalem and its place as the home of the Knesset is clear to everyone, and I am sure they understand this in Ankara as well."
