Students of Kiryat Arba's yeshiva high school and girls' high school are organizing a cleanup campaign on the worshippers' route which runs from Kiryat Arba to the Ma'arat Hamachpela Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron. Thousands are expected to converge on Hevron in conjunction with this week's Torah portion of Chayei Sarah, which includes the Biblical account of Patriarch Abraham's purchase of the cave.
The path is used as a local waste dump by the Arabs whose houses align the route. The Kiryat Arba-Hevron local council says the Arabs welcomed the campaign.
