The Nadav Fund's first-ever Jewish Peoplehood Award was presented Monday to Former United States Deputy Secretary of State Stuart Eisenstadt for outstanding contributions to the Jewish people and committment to its future. The presentation was made by Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky during the General Assembly of the United Jewish Communities, taking place in Washington, DC.
Ambassador Eisenstadt was recognized for his work during the Clinton Administration on behalf of Holocaust victims. Those efforts included negotiations with Germany, Austria and Switzerland for the return of Jewish property, the granting of reparations to forced laborers, location of stolen art and bank accounts and payment of insurance.
