The Knesset Economics Committee approved application of continuity rules to a proposal by Member of Knesset Alex Miller (Yisrael Beiteinu) that would exempt soldiers without family in Israel from paying the television license tax, which is used to support government-operated television.
The continuity rules mean that the proposal will proceed from the point it reached before the last Knesset disbanded. The first reading had been approved, leaving only adjustments by the committee and the votes on the second and third readings.
